Arrived April 29, 2006
So we're back to our roots and next month it will be a year already. Can't hardly believe it. Jim's transfer was approved and I left my job so I could help my mom get her house in some kind of order. Central Air was totally installed the very day the heat was unbearable last June. The upstairs bathroom got some serious attention and a whole new downstairs bath with shower was completed in January. Still much to be done and much more needs to be weeded out. Mom can't seem to part with an-y-thing! She's 84 and still mows the grass (no riding mower), rakes the 5 million leaves and shovels snow. Never seen her drink a glass of water... only coffee and soda. She never complains of any serious aches or pains. She's a real trophy of the grace of God. My knees are giving me a fit. The doc says that half of the cartilege is worn away and will not get any better. Of course, that has slowed me down to the point I need to hire people to come and lift and move boxes and furniture and do those honeydo's that Jim and I used to do. All in all, it's been a good experience. My mom's sisters can tell the difference in her since we moved in. They say she is much happier and much more lively. Crabs and crabcakes are plentiful and yummylicious!
